Two volunteer oportunities in which you can carry out different activities according to your skills and interests.

In the first volunteer program CHINCHAYPUJIO HOMESTAY our objective is to consolidate an authentic town of Peru in a singular tourist destination based on its culture and its particular nature.

The second volunteer program COLCA TIKARIY our objective is to help children, their people and their environment doing different activities, here you teach English, you participate in activities for the good of the nature of the mountain.
However, you can support both, as they are within walking distance of each other.

1. First Volunteer Program

1.1 Name of program: Chinchaypujio Homestay

Healthy tourism development in two rural communities near Cusco.

1.2 Volunteer Online activities:

  • Place: in the community of Ocra (3600) and Paucarccoto (altitude 3200 masl), in the Chinchaypujio district (46 km from the city of Cusco)
  • Beneficiaries: 12 children, 15 families, town of Ocra and Paucarccoto.
  • Volunteer skills (desirable, no necesary): knowledge of tourism, planning, development projects, marketing, web design, animal care, agriculture, physical fitness.
  • Minimum time: 1 day
  • maximum time: 12 months
  • Opportunity: develop planning skills, propose ideas to develop authentic tourism, interact and live with local families, enjoy unique nature, meet and feed animals such as guinea pig, llama and alpaca, take walks, enjoy local food, and meet nice people.
  • Schedule (flexible): generally busy 4 days a week, 3 days free.
  • our fee: USD 12 Daily;Includes accommodation in a private room, in the home of a local family; also three meals a day, vegetarian, vegan or common. Does not include transportation from Cusco to Colca or Chinchaypujio (USD 10 once).

Activities:

a.- Native animal care like alpaca, llama, guinea pig

b.- Organic farming practice with ancestral techniques, such as the Incas.

2. Second Volunteer Program

Teach english to children

2.1 Name of Program: Colca Tikariy

2.2 Volunteer online activities:

2.3 Volunteer On-site:

  • Place: Colca Community (altitude 3800 masl), in the Cotabambas district (90 km from the city of Cusco)
  • Beneficiaries: 30 children, 30 families, Colca town.
  • Volunteer skills (disable, not necesary): Childcare, teaching English, practicing sports, meditation, yoga, the environment, tree planting, agriculture, animal care, physical fitness, healthy.
  • Minimum time: 3 days
  • maximum time: 12 months
  • Opportunity: interact with children; learn Spanish and Quechua, get to know authentic Peruvian culture, cook local food, live with friendly local families; traditional organic agriculture, meet animals like guinea pig, llama, alpaca; develop skills, propose ideas; take walks on ancient trails, climb mountains, enjoy unique scenery, visit small archaeological sites, take photos and videos.
  • Schedule (flexible): generally busy 4 days a week, 3 days free.

Activities:

a.- Tech english to Local Kids

In this volunteer program you will teach children between 7 and 15 years old, you will share with them moments that will give you the opportunity to learn the local culture.

b.- Reforestation with 2020 native trees

c.- Promote the practice of sports with children

In the afternoons we practice sports, soccer, volleyball, athletics, yoga, gymnastics or whatever you can teach them. The objective is to complement the physical exercise to its preparation in values.

d.- Care of animals such as llama, alpaca and guinea pigs

They also help care for the animals that Colca families raise. It consists of preparing their food, feeding them, curing and dosing.

e.- Helps grow local agricultural products

In colca they are dedicated to agriculture and animal husbandry, during your free time you can help plant, sow or harvest crops. You can also teach how to plant vegetables that they don’t plant normally.

f.- Learn how to cook local food

During volunteering you stay in a family home, they give you room and board. After the activities with the children, the hostess will teach you how to prepare local food, with products that are grown locally.
